With personal experience filing claims with each of these companies, while they are ‘designed for efficiency’, the process can be tedious. Expect to submit scanned copies of receipts, doctors reports, etc. and detailed notes about the incident. In our experience, the response time is slow and timeline to process can take up to 12 weeks. It’s also important to check if your policy has a deducible. If so, you may not receive a reimbursement for the claim until your deductible is met.

SafetyWing

The SafetyWing claims process is designed for efficiency, allowing policyholders to file claims online. Customers need to submit a claims form along with any relevant documentation, such as medical bills or receipts, to support their claim. Note that claims are handled by a third-party provider and can take up to 12 weeks to receive a decision about the claim. Also note that there is a $250 deductible that must be met before SafetyWing will issue a reimbursement. For more detailed information on the claims process, please refer to SafetyWing’s official website.

World Nomads

Similar to SafetyWing, World Nomads’ claims are processed online. All documents, receipts, and details about the events are to be submitted during the claims process. A decision is made within 4-12 weeks and issued via email. It’s important to check if your policy has a deductible, as it must be met before the claim will be reimbursed.
